Overflow Activations Permitted

Overflow activations permitted is a representation in the CheckPoint database of how many additional (non-normal)  Activations are permitted for a particular Serial Number. This is the secondary controller for how many times a Serial Number can be Activated on end-user machines.

By contrast, Total Activations Permitted, is the base number of Activations permitted before this value is used.

Together, total Activations permitted plus overflow Activations permitted equal the true total number of times a particular Serial Number can be Activated.

The differentiation between the two values allow you to configure your Serial Numbers for Activations beyond what the customer had originally anticipated. This allows you to let the customer go ahead and activate more machines and you may then wish to contact the customer to renegotiate license terms or simply to submit a bill for added usage.
